This unit offers a 30 day functionality warranty.  always with this type of component your best bet is to match the part number to the one on your original ECU. This car, (The subaru Loyal) holds a special place in my heart, as it was the first Subaru I ever drove! - My friend from High school Alex Jacobs owned one... Anyway, back to the ECU!  You will find this located up above the driver side knee bolster.  They are frequently water damaged due to a leaky windscreen or corroded due to mouse piss.

A faulty ECU is one of the most common no start or random stalling problems with these cars. These can also cause issues with erroneous check engine lights as well as emission control & cold or hot start problems.
