This unit is typically found up above your gas pedal.  It connects to the pedal through a small chain.  This is the device that physically controls your pedal when the cruise is on.  If this unit is bad, it will not hold vacuum and pull the chain when you try to activate the cruise control system.  Please check this first.

 Don't go around in your classic 900 with a non working cruise control system, there is a good chance this is an easy fix and you will have working cruise again! Thanks for looking and good luck!
