The mass sir flow sensor is the heart of the cars fuel injection system.  If it's not working properly, it can cause a whole host of drivability problems, including no start, stalling, runs but hesitates, has no power, lean running (which can cause overheating), rich running, etc.  The mass air flow meter needs to work RIGHT.
