Renix / Bendix Injection Engine / ignition controllers were Not common in the US at all, only used for a few years, though an excellent system (similar to Bosch motronic in principal) it was too expensive costing nearly $1000 per car, and chrysler nixed it when they took full control. You will see this system used on a variety of late 80's AMC cars, including Jeep cherokees. Once the Cherokee got the 4.0 and ditched the GM 2.8, it got this system. This same system is used in some 2.5 liter models too, however the 4.0 units will not work with this. Check the part number to be sure this is right for your car and match it, I have several of these units for cherokees.These are very hard to find in good working condition. This unit was runtested & is functional, and offers a 30 day warranty. Please be sure to double check the part number off your original unit before buying. A defective unit is one of the most common no start or random stalling problems with the Bendix / Seimens Renix systems. They can also be the cause of eronious check engine lights, cold or hot start problems, or idle control malfunctions. If yours does not have problems, keep an extra ECU in the trunk, you might some day be glad you did...
