VW / Audi 5 cyl Distributor 034905205F BOSCH 0237030009 / 0 237 030 009

Up for sale is a Working, in excellent condition used VW 5 cyl distributor - removed from a recent crash damaged car. Fits the 5 cyl models - in the US . A faulty distributor is one of the most common (and more expensive to fix) no start problems with these cars. If the hall sensor inside the distributor fails or the connector is broken off of the distributor housing (common) this will cause no spark at the plugs (but you will have spark at the coil), as well as no ECU/fuel pump function. Another common "no-start / Non running" issue with these can be causes by failure of the plastic drive "pin". This can be noted viewing your distributor rotor when cranking the car, if it does not rotate or you can easily stop it from rotating with your hand, the drive pin has failed.BOSCH 0237030009 VW 034905205F

This is a good used unit, with all the common failure points inspected GOOD! Re manufactured distributors start at around $250 for one of the cheapest. In addition to hall sensor failures, these also commonly leak oil internally causing a burning smell as the drips burn off on the exhaust manifold which is directly underneath the distributor. This one was removed and runtested with my oscilloscope, functions properly. Though this is probably an original never rebuilt unit, it did not appear to have any oily residue inside the cap which means it should not leak internally. This comes with a 30 day functionality guarantee! Thanks for looking! I recommend replacing the distributor cap, rotor and external O-ring before installing this as these are all easily serviceable and cheap. The ones on the unit are there, but are used and are not guaranteed. Also, I know these cars well, and with this this type of distributor the connector itself can often times cause problems due to deterioration of the harness near the connector boot so be sure to check this as well.
